Do-It-Yourself Internet Marketing Or Professional Internet Marketing Companies

By Ashton Dixon

There are so many ways to market your home or online business and sometimes it isn’t easy to choose which way is best for you. Should you try to market your business or site by online yourself or would it be better to use a professional internet marketing company?

If you choose to market your business or internet site yourself, there are a few things to consider. First, you can use free web page sites which allow a person to create a space in order to literally market themselves. In this case, it would be easy to publicize anything; including your own business. It is also a great way to make sure you get what you want across to the internet public. This permits you to personalize your marketing and sometimes making it sound less professional may draw more attention to your site. There are also sites that allow you to create blogs – basically an online diary – which can also be beneficial to your business or site. Both of these services are, for the most part, free and accessible in any language. One more way to do things yourself is to create mass e mail marketing. This simple yet effective process allows you to alert current customers of any specials, new arrivals or changes to your online business.

Perhaps you lack the time it takes to do things on your own, or maybe you lack the finesse needed to make your business sound as great as you wish it to. Whichever is the case, possibly you need to recruit the aid of a professional internet marketing company. Instead of spending tedious hours trying to maximize your web count, you can spend a great, or small, amount of money to have someone else do it for you. Professional internet marketing companies take publicity beyond e mails and blogs. They can offer search engine optimization, which includes you paying for keywords that are linked to your site. Each time someone uses one of these keywords, it can create a hit to your online business. They can also create web banners, which work just the same as a banner on the fence at a high school football game; just on the World Wide Web. The banners can be animated, can include blinkies, flashing text and in some cases, sound. The can be very effective in grabbing one’s attention. Another option that professional internet marketing companies offer is pay per click. This is basically an operation that allows you to ‘rent’ a small space on another site and you pay that site for each click your banner, logo, etc. generates.

Whichever way you choose, just be sure that it is right for you. Your budget just may restrict which marketing choice you pick.

Marketing Budgets Move From Offline Marketing To Internet Marketing And Search Engine Optimisation

By Jon Harrison

Companies have and are increasingly moving their marketing budgets to internet marketing and search engine optimisation. The main reason for this is natural progression due to people using the internet more and more every year.

Due to the large increase of broadband users last year and the predicted increase over the next 5-10 years people are taking search engine optimisation and internet marketing more seriously and spending more money on it. The main cause of this is the competition between the big broadband suppliers driving down the price. With more people having fast internet access it allows them to spend more time on the internet going from site to site in minutes seeing dozens of sites. It is also proven that most of the users go through search engines to find their results so it is important to have your site visible there.

Offline marketing is becoming less effective due to several reasons. One of the reasons is the over use of telesales, this has happened over years which has meant that they are less effective now as people are less willing to listen to what the sales person has to offer. People are also purchasing more online so are not going to stores and shops, which means that no matter how much you advertise for a store offline it is losing sales to online websites.

The older more traditional techniques like using leaflets, newspaper advertisements, billboards etc are becoming less affecting due to; people not reading them and reading online newspapers, people not seeing the billboards due to not going near the shops and purchasing online and putting the leaflets straight in the bin with out reading them due to so many irrelevant ones.

As more and more sites go online and the more complex the search engines get, it is harder and harder to rank on the big search engines which also means more time and money has to be put into getting high rankings. However, this pays off as there are more users so you should see more sales for your money. Companies are realising this and concentrating on gaining and not losing trade to online competition.

Internet Marketing Mistakes: The 4 Deadly Sins of Internet Marketing

By Amy Cox

The internet is the perfect platform for businesses of all sizes to market. Internet marketing can be done on a small budget, but it is only effective if it is done properly. Most businesses make one or more of the four common internet marketing mistakes.

Building a Site Low in Content

This is a common mistake businesses make. Content is important in internet marketing, and without great content on a site, there is little internet marketing can do to help.

Internet marketing can only go so far if the website is weak. Businesses must have a strong website that other sites will link to. If a site is weak, it will not get the exposure it needs.

In order to get great content on a site, businesses can include a blog with interesting and helpful information, as well as useful articles. If they build the blog and article directory on a regular basis, they will soon have a site with great content.

Making Promises You Can’t Follow Through On

The internet has allowed for advertising without censorship. The online community is a Wild West of sorts, and because of that, many businesses forget to have integrity with advertising. While it is often enticing to make false promises in the hopes of getting customers, that is not the way to start a business relationship. Also, it is not the way to gain a strong customer base. The online business world survives on referrals. If you are making promises you cannot follow through on, you will not get the referrals you need to stay in business.

While there are a lot of companies that operate without integrity, most companies make such promises without having ill intentions. They want to stand out, so they make bold statements. Look at your advertising and make sure you can follow through on every promise.

Internet Marketing: Putting Your Internet Marketing Site Online

By Tellman H. Knudson

This third in a series of “Getting Started with Internet Marketing” articles is about pointing your new web host (in article 2) to your new domain that you purchased in article 1. This linking is important because if you don’t do it, you’ll never see your Internet marketing site online. Period. But no problem! We’re going to fix that right now.

A server (or name server or domain name server or DNS) is a computer that translates domain names into IP or Internet protocol addresses. These are expressed in a series of numbers which other servers will understand. It makes things much simpler for us because instead of needing to type in series of numbers we can just type in coolwebsite.com and everything works.

But we have to tell servers where to find our websites, and because you just purchased your domain, you probably still have the registrar’s name server (or nameserver) addresses, and in order for your website to be seen, you’ll have to change them over to your hosting account. This won’t be the case if you’ve purchased a hosting account where you got a free domain or two for perks of joining, but never base your hosting decision on that alone. (See article 2 in the Getting Started with Internet Marketing” series for more buying tips.)

For this exercise, let’s say you’re going to have a separate hosting account. You’ll need to “point” your domain to your host’s name servers so that when someone types in your domain, they’ll land at your web site. So, at your domain registrar’s site, navigate to where the name servers are located. It may just say “DNS.” These are usually located near your domain listing or accessible through a link nearby your domains.

What you’re going to find are two addresses and they’ll look something like this: “ns1.yourregistrar.com” and “ns2.yourregistrar.com.” Both of those addresses will have to be changed. Now, open a new tab or window and go to your hosting account. Look for “name servers,” “nameservers, ” or “DNS.” Because these are sometimes hard to find, you may want to search for one of those terms.

Internet Video Marketing- Make the Internet Sync With Your Marketing Tunes

By Amaan Goyal

With the continued climb of IT and computer technology, people are getting more used to a whole new kind of entrepreneurship. This entrepreneurship is one that is based online and on the internet. It may not come as a surprise to you because everyday, it is very common to see new websites selling different products and services as well as receipt of emails coming from these businesses. At every part of our day, people get to interact more with the use of the internet. This can be looked upon on two sides. One, internet businesses make life easier for consumers. On the businessman’s point-of-view, business is also better with the widening of the market through the internet.

For these reasons, setting up an online business is a way to catch up with the times as well as a brand new way of making profit. When you have an online business or a home based business, it is very necessary to have internet marketing or more commonly known as online marketing. Admittedly, there are hundreds of thousands of business websites. For each kind of product and service, there are also thousands of people who are in the background representing different small to big businesses. So if you are an online business owner, how do you separate your business from the thousand others? How do you make your product, brand or service stand out?

The answer lies in the many and various website promotion schemes. To promote a product or service, you definitely have to promote your website because it is through your website that people get in touch with your business. In the world of internet entrepreneurship, website promotion is most essential to make your business succeed or fail. Without this, your website and your product or service offering might as well stay in the dark.

One method in online marketing is video marketing. Internet video marketing is a kind of marketing strategy employed by online business owners to announce to the world about their business. In video marketing, what you sell and promote is not only the product or service but more importantly, yourself. Most consumers nowadays are very picky and seem to hesitate when it comes to easily trusting something from the Web. As we all know, there are online scams and there are real and genuine online businesses. Knowing the difference of the two is difficult from the common consumer. So one way to uplift business credibility is to create and show an internet video about the product, service or owner.

Internet Marketing Strategies For Explosive Network Marketing Online- Part 4: Social Networking, Web Marketing 2.0 & Viral Marketing

By Dianne Ronnow

This is Dianne again, and I’m an Online Marketing Consultant specializing in helping Network Marketers succeed in exploding their network marketing business online.

This is the third part of a short 5 article mini-series that explains the top 5 internet marketing strategies that will allow you and any other serious network marketer to climb to the top of your business and join the ranks of the top earners across the industry.

In a recap of the last three articles, I discussed Residual Income & Solving Cash Flow Problems, the importance of Lead Generation & Listbuilding, and Affiliate Marketing. This fourth article is about Social Networking, Web Marketing 2.0 & Viral Marketing

I’ll start with viral marketing. What is viral marketing? It is marketing that spreads like a virus. Before the Internet, viral marketing was Word of Mouth Advertising. Today viral marketing uses the internet, and it’s a whole new world.

Some examples of good viral marketing are:

The Blendtec’s “Will it Blend?” video series. If you haven’t seen them yet, check them out on Youtube. They show scientists testing if various household items to find out if it’ll blend in their super-powerful blender. Blendtec has successfully leveraged the popularity of Youtube and other video sharing sites.

Or there’s “One Red Paperclip” where the author of a blog started with a single red paperclip and traded his way up to a house, documenting his steps along the way.

Become A Better Internet Marketing Advisor By Employing A Solid Internet Marketing Development Cycle

By Michael Bryksa

Let’s get this one thing out of the way: the only reason you aren’t making a good living as an internet marketing advisor is because you don’t have a solid internet marketing strategy in place.

Do you have entrepreneur friends who are running a successful business? Try asking them how you could establish a successful business without doing any planning whatsoever, and they’ll tell you that 1) it simply isn’t possible and 2) please don’t make them laugh suddenly out of nowhere. Any business man or woman will tell you that some solid planning and backup strategy is essential, almost indispensable, when starting your own business. But the problem with most internet marketing advisors is they seem to think all of this doesn’t apply to them.

It does.

Being an internet marketing advisor that earns top dollar involves a lot of hard work, just like–surprise!–real life. In the end internet marketing boils right back down to the fundamentals of marketing, that is buying and selling, knowing what you’re selling and who you’re selling to. If you want to become more than just your average run-of-the-mill internet marketing advisor, you need to learn the following internet marketing development cycle and apply it to your own work.

Step 1: Online/Market Research

Marketing begs the question: who are you marketing to and how?

First you need to identify your customers, your marketing niche. What is the average age of your market niche? Do they hang out on MySpace or Facebook? What are they looking for in a product and what dissatisfaction have they experienced in the past? You also need to do a bit of research on your competitors. What are their marketing strategies? What makes their product great? What makes it bad?

How To Save Money On Mailing Fees And Services

When answering the question, how to save money on mailing fees, there are several possible answers. There are many ways to cut costs when it comes to shipping. When shopping on the Internet, consumers can look for sites that offer free shipping on their products. Many online companies offer free shipping options to attract customers. One of the disadvantages of shopping on the web are the shipping costs involved with making a purchase.

There are a few things consumers can do to reduce their shipping costs. The more flexible the person is regarding the delivery date, the more money they can save on shipping. Avoiding shipping items during holiday seasons will also help to reduce costs.

When selecting a shipping method it is important to consider the weight and dimensions of the package. If large items are shipped on a regular basis, then buying a shipping scale is a good way to predetermine the costs for shipping. Items should be packed using lightweight packing materials.

To keep the shipping costs at a minimum, the packing materials that are used must not weigh too much. Styrofoam or packing items like bubble wrap are excellent choices to keep the weight down. Paper products and newspaper can get heavy and add to the expense of shipping a package. But items like air bags are also good choices since the do not weigh much.

It is important to compare rates with different carriers in order to get the best deal. This information can be obtained online if all the weight and dimensions of the package are known. It is important to note that some carriers do not service certain locations. In these cases, it may be more expensive to send the item.

Checking for shipping restrictions when sending items to other countries is another way to reduce costs. Some international locations do not permit certain products to enter their country. Customs must examine the nature of the product as well as how much it is worth. Not having the right paperwork can add to costs.

How Can Your Business Collect?

What makes a business successful, you might ask? The answer is simple. Capital. And when the going gets tough, businesses without invoicing and any system to collect debt tend to feel the heat. It is a simple fact that any company that provides credit to its customers must send them a bill as soon as it is possible and have ways to ensure that accounts are collected on time.

First and foremost, any business needs a systematic way to ensure that its invoices are paid within its trading terms. This includes a record that needs to be signed, setting out the trading terms. These include when the company will invoice, when payment must be made, and what the consequences of not paying an account by the deadline will be. Among these consequences might be an account keeping fee that is charged once an account is outstanding for a set amount of time, a hold being put on goods or services and a final deadline by which time the account will be sent to collections.

These trading terms should be signed and retained in the customer file. There will also have to be administrative systems in place to guarantee that the company’s invoices are sent out according to its policy. Business owners should never let fear of losing a customer get in the way of having a debt collection policy that is efficient.

The next thing to focus on is a debt collection administration that is centered on personal contact rather than statements and letters. Experience demonstrates that collection is more efficient when customers receive phone calls instead of threatening letters. The first step is a telephone call to customers who haven’t paid their bill within the terms that they agreed to. The phone call should be scripted and timely; within a few weeks of the account becoming overdue. From the beginning, the person making the call has to state that there was nothing wrong with the services or goods that were supplied.

If there was, it should be addressed immediately and a new payment date should be agreed upon. If the bill is still not paid by the next deadline, make another call letting the customer know that the account keeping fee will be charged, and that if the account goes past the next deadlines, supply will end and collections will begin. As far as debt collection agencies go, an firm that works on a no collection, no fee policy is usually the best choice.
