The vast majority of email marketing lists that I am on peter out after a month or two. Those that keep going after this point are ones that I am most likely to open and read because by this time the authors should be starting to provide me with information that I didn’t already know.

Keeping it Simple;
One of the technical email marketing tips is to keep the graphics basic. I know that there are a huge number of graphics and awesome tools out there to really vamp your site, but for newsletters it is always better to keep it really clean and simple. Many people check their emails on mobile devices and these small screens don’t handle flashy graphics particularly well.

You Don’t Always Have To Sell Something
I’m probably going to get shot here, but try not to sell something with every newsletter that you send out. Having every email come out that says something like “Hey, hows it going? I bet that this is frustrating you and I feel your pain, but here is a great product that will make it all better for you” might be great in a friendly, conversational way, but I know that I start to get a bit weary and wary if every email starts to look like this. Once in a while take a break and just direct your reader to a great info site, let them know what is happening on your site, apologize for any errors that may have happened in the last 24 hours….
