The Google Webmaster console now enables you to see most, but not all, with the backlinks to your web site. Matt Cutts who’s the Google guru on back-links and SEO has acknowledged that Google does not show 100% from the back links but means that the number of links who’s does show is supposed to grow within the next almost a year. Which is about as specific as they gets.

If you want to your Google Webmaster console you can probably see more links for a site, maybe as much as 10 times more links, then you’ll see with all the link: command about the Google search page. Again, no real explanation of why that’s so.

It’s also possible to download your Google backlinks in the really nice CSV format if you wish to slice and dice them at all.

Perhaps the main part of information that we get from Matt Cutts on his blog is the fact that just because the thing is a back link from Google that is not to mean that inlink is carrying any weight with Google. He emphasized that reason for bold letters two separate times but failed to offer a scintilla of information of why some inbound links carry weight with Google and several usually do not.

It’s unfortunate that Matt Cutts would not explain much more about on-line of an inbound link because even an easy explanation would probably save many people long spaces of time of your time rather than an inconsiderable amount of money if we knew in advance whether we would be wasting our efforts with any particular aspect of our backlinks strategy.
